Texas Football News: #11/12 Longhorns surprise No. 3/3 Alabama, 34-24

The Longhorns racked up 454 yards of total offense and snapped the Crimson Tide’s 21-game home winning streak.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – No. 11/12 Texas Football took down No. 3/3 Alabama, 34-24, on Saturday night to snap the Crimson Tide’s 21-game home winning streak at Bryant-Denny Memorial Stadium.

Sophomore quarterback Quinn Ewers completed 24-of-38 passes for 349 passing yards and three touchdowns, connecting with junior wide receiver’s Adonai Mitchell and Xavier Worthy.

Ja’Tavion Sanders was the Longhorns’ leading receiver with five catches for 114 yards, including a 50-yard reception. Worthy caught five passes for 75 yards with one touchdown, while Mitchell had three catches for 78 yards and two touchdowns.

Jonathan Brooks rushed 14 times for 57 yards with one touchdown and was instrumental in closing out the game with a seven-minute drive to end the game.

Freshman linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. had six total tackles, including two sacks to lead the Longhorns defense.
