COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State (0-0-1) came away with a 1-all draw against CSUN (0-0-1) Thursday in the season opener at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
Senior Sean Ryan headed in the go-ahead goal in the 67th minute to give Ohio State a 1-0 lead in the 2023 Wolstein Classic but the Matadors tied the game in the 90th minute on a goal by Jorge Solorzano that found the left corner of the Ohio State goal off a set piece.
How it Happened
Ryan came off the bench in the second half in a scoreless game to give the Buckeyes a much-needed lift. The score, a header from the right side, was his second career goal and first since his freshman season in 2020.
After an Ohio State foul, Solorzano earned the tie for CSUN on a blast from outside the box.
