LOOKING AT THE HOOSIERS

*Tom Allen is 30-40 in 6+ years in Bloomington. But only 6-18 the past 2 seasons

*Co-Offensive Coordinators: Walt Bell, Anthony Tucker

*Co-Defensive Coordinators: Matt Guerrieri, Chad Wilt

*Plays at Memorial Stadium, 52,929

*Feeling is that Indiana will have to win some big games and be more competitive in 2023 to see Coach Allen around for 2024

*Indiana is a hard place to win at consistently

*Program loses top players and are always in the transfer portal too much

*They brought in Bob Bostad from Wisconsin to improve the offensive line

*Team is looking at a new QB in either Tennessee transfer Tayven Jackson or redshirt freshman Brendan Sorsby

*Walt Bell wants to go to an Air Raid attack on offense which is needed cause the Hoosiers were at the bottom of the Big Ten in every major offensive category

*Team has strength in a rotation-heavy defensive line. LB Aaron Casey is a leader; also returning is Matt Hohlt and Stanford transfer Jacob Mangum-Farrar are experienced next to him in the middle of the field

*The anemic pass rush which has only garnered 37 sacks the past two years, will be led by Myles Jackson and Western Michigan transfer Andre Carter.

*Hoosiers have one of the best in punter James Evans and long-snapper Sean Wracher.

*Placekicking is anyone’s guess as returnee Chris Freeman and All-American Bowl participant Nicolas Radicic, a freshman, are in the mix

*RB Jaylin Lucas, an exciting and dangerous player, will return kickoffs and punts

*On defense Guerrieri was brought in to get back to 2019, 2020 play of blitz-heavy and high-pressure styles that Allen has always favored

*If Indiana goes 6-6 or 7-5 and gets a bowl game, which a win-win in Hoosier land, Allen is back in 2024

*Indiana’s first 4 games are: Ohio State, Indiana State, Louisville and Akron. Get out of that with a 3-1 or 2-2 and they could go 6-6
