MICHIGAN WOLVERINES NOTES FOR 2023

*Jim Harbaugh in 8 years is 74-25; 103-46 overall in 12 years

*Returning starters 15, 8 offense, 7 defense

*Strengths are J.J. McCarthy as finally the main QB; Running game is prolific and the best in the Big 10; Defensive front should be solid; Will Johnson is among the best defensive backs in the country.

*Weaknesses or concerns: The wide receivers could be good but play good in stretches and are streaky; No go to receiver; depth is there but not much production; The other cornerback opposite Will Johnson is not set. Michigan has always had a solid kicking game but now they are in a holding pattern with Tommy Doman and Adam Samaha competing for punter and placekicking.

*The pass rush does not have a clear leader. The new faces are Braiden McGregor, Derrick Moore, Coastal Carolina transfer Josaiah Stewart could be the guy. In just 2 seasons with the Chanticleers, he had 25.5 tackles for loss and 16 sacks.

*Non-conference opponents include: September 2 East Carolina; September 9 UNLV; September 16 Bowling Green.

*Coach Harbaugh is facing a possible 4-game suspension for NCAA Rules Violations.

*They are the 2-time defending Big Ten champions. Are the favorite to do it again. They have never won the conference three years in a row.
