DAYTON – Former Wright State men’s basketball player Tim Finke has signed with Umeå of the Swedish Basketball League to begin his professional career, the organization announced on Sunday.

The Illinois native played in 126 career collegiate games, including 92 games – all starts – at Wright State over the last four years. Last season, he averaged 8.0 points per contest and added 5.9 rebounds a night, which were both right on his final career averages (8.8 points per; 5.9 rebounds per). Finke tallied a career-best 21 points at Detroit Mercy in February 2022, while his 12 rebounds against Milwaukee in February 2021 were a career high on the glass.

Umeå is part of the Swedish Basketball League, the premier league for professional basketball in Sweden. The organization is located in the city of Umeå, located in northeast Sweden. The SBL season runs from late fall through the spring. Umeå finished fourth in the standings during the 2022-23 season amongst the 11 teams.

Season ticket renewals for the 2023-24 campaign are underway now – more information can be found by clicking here.
