The Buckeyes kick off the fall season Sept. 11-12 in Albuquerque, N.M.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women’s golf head coach Lisa Strom has announced the Buckeyes’ schedule for the 2023-24 season.
The Buckeyes kick things off at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational, hosted by the University of New Mexico at the UNM Championship Course Sept. 11-12. Ohio State also opened the season at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational last season and they were the winners, firing a 54-hole score of 853 (-11).
Ohio State concludes the fall at back-to-back events hosted by Big Ten opponents. First, the Buckeyes will compete in the Mary Fossum Invitational, hosted by Michigan State at Forest Akers West in East Lansing, Mich., Sept. 17-18. They close out the fall portion of their schedule at the Illini Women’s Invitational at Medinah Country Club Oct. 9-10.
The Buckeyes open the spring season in California, hosting the Therese Hession Regional Challenge, presented by Northrop Grumman, for the 28th time. The tournament will be held Feb. 4-6 at Palos Verdes Golf Club. The Buckeyes placed sixth last season with a team score of 871 (+19).
Ohio State heads to sunny Florida next, competing in Michigan State’s Spartan Sun Coast Invitational from Feb. 18-19 at the Palm Aire Champions Course in Sarasota.
Next, the Buckeyes will take on the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate March 4-6. Considered “the greatest show in women’s collegiate golf,” the tournament will be hosted at Long Cove Club in Hilton Head Island, S.C. Hosted by South Carolina, the tournament is named after Hootie & the Blow Fish frontman and country superstar Darius Rucker, who performs at the event each year.
Ohio State heads back to Florida to play in the Florida State Match-Up at Seminole Legacy Golf Club in Tallahassee March 15-17 and then returns to South Caroline to compete in the Clemson Invitational March 22-24 at The Reserve at Lake Keowee.
The Buckeyes wrap up the regular season by hosting the Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational at the OSU Scarlet Course. The tournament, formerly known as the Lady Buckeye Invitational, will run April 13-14 and this will be the 42nd installment. The Buckeyes won their 17th tournament title last season, shooting a team score of 854 (-10).
The Big Ten Championships will be held April 19-21 at Blue Rock Golf Course in Havre de Grace, Md. Ohio State placed third at the 2023 Big Ten Championships at Fox Chapel Golf Club in Pittsburgh, Pa.
NCAA Regionals will take place May 6-8 and the NCAA Championships, which will be hosted at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, will be May 17-22. Last season, the Buckeyes competed at the Athens Regional, where they placed sixth. It was their 27th appearance at NCAA Regionals. Ohio State has advanced to 22 NCAA Championships, last making an appearance in 2018.
