Ohio State Buckeyes News: Two More Current Players Earn Degrees on Sunday

Ohio State will have nine college graduates on its roster when the 2023 season opens on Sept. 2

 

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Two more current members of Ohio State’s football team will be among the 47 student-athletes who receive their degrees Sunday at Summer Commencement. They are: SAF Josh Proctor and TE Gee Scott Jr., both of whom are graduating with degrees in human development and family science.

Three former Buckeyes, K Noah Ruggles, TE/FB Mitch Rossi and DB Lloyd McFarquhar earned master’s degrees Sunday, as well.

Proctor, from Owasso, Okla., has played in 42 games over his career and been a part of three Big Ten championship teams and three teams that appeared in the College Football Playoffs. He has career statistics that include 65 tackles, eight passes defended, two interceptions and one fumble recovery.

Scott Jr., a native of Seattle, is in his fourth season with the Buckeyes this fall and has appeared in 24 career games. He’s caught 10 career passes and last season at Michigan State scored his first touchdown – a two-yard pass from C.J. Stroud in a 49-20 victory.

Nine College Graduates
With the additions of Proctor and Scott, Ohio State has nine players on its roster who have earned their degrees. The graduates include: LB Steele Chambers (finance); OL Victor Cutler Jr. (kinesiology; from Louisiana Monroe); LB Tommy Eichenberg (real estate); WR Xavier Johnson (communications); OG Matthew Jones (human development and family sciences); DT Jaden McKenzie (human development and family sciences); SAF Josh Proctor (human development and family science), TE Gee Scott Jr. (human development and family science) and LB Kourt Williams (communications).
