SPECIAL LIVE PERFORMANCE BY FAST-RISING BRITISH MUSIC GROUP TO HIGHLIGHT SECOND NIGHT OF CLEVELAND’S ANNUAL SUMMER TRADITION
Cleveland, OH – The Cleveland Guardians today announced that a special post-game musical performance by The Heavy Heavy has been added to the second night of 2023 Rock ‘N’ Blast presented by FirstEnergy on Saturday, August 5 vs. the Chicago White Sox. Based out of Brighton, UK, The Heavy Heavy will make the group’s Cleveland debut at Progressive Field ahead of their Aug. 6 concert at Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica opening for The Revivalists alongside Band of Horses.
The Heavy Heavy recently completed their inaugural U.S. solo cross-country tour, also making nationally televised appearances on CBS Saturday Morning, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Led by Will Turner and Georgie Fuller, the five-member group has already had two singles reach Top 5 on the Adult Alternative AAA Radio Charts – “Miles and Miles” and “Go Down River” – both rooted in the effusive, reverb-drenched harmonies and fuzzed-out guitar work found on Life and Life Only, the group’s debut EP. The Heavy Heavy’s first full-length album is expected to be released later this year.
Closing in on two decades as a Cleveland summer tradition at Progressive Field, 2023 Rock ‘N’ Blast will take place on back-to-back nights, Aug. 4 & 5, and feature a “Generations” musical theme. Those in attendance for the Aug. 5 contest against Chicago-AL can also participate in the $2 Pregame in the District presented by Miller Lite (5:30-7:00pm), while the first 12,500 fans in attendance will receive a Weekender Bag courtesy of Sysco.
The Heavy Heavy’s special appearance is the latest addition to an active calendar of live music at Progressive Field in 2023, joining recent post-game fireworks performances by Tropidelic (May 26) and Straight No Chaser (July 3), as well as a full post-game concert by Walk The Moon (June 24).
