The Columbus Eagles gained its third win of the season defeating Century United 1-0 Sunday night against a different city backdrop, Historic Crew Stadium.

The Eagles lone goal of the night came from a penalty kick by midfielder Katie Cox at the 38- minute mark. Cox was facing a familiar task but on a bigger stage, and she capitalized on the moment.

“I was just trying to stay calm, cool and collected while taking my PK,” said Cox, “The big crowd and big stadium kind of makes some people nervous, but I was just trying to stay calm and put it in the back of the net.”

The Eagles had a home game at Bernlohr Stadium on Capital University’s campus against Ambassadors Cleveland on June 26.
