The 12-game winning streak for the Cincinnati Reds is tied for third-longest in franchise history. They won 12 consecutive games in 1957 and 1939. They won 13 in 1890 and 14 in 1899.

REDS LONGEST SINGLE SEASON WIN STREAKS
ROOKIE ELLY DE LA CRUZ
Friday night against the Atlanta Braves, De La Cruz put himself into the history books in the World Series era, since 1903, to record at least 20 hits, five stolen bases and three home runs in a player’s first 15 career games, that is per ESPN Stats & Info.
Also, the 21-year-old recorded a double, home run, single and triple in his first four at-bats, leading the Reds to their 12th straight win.
That ended the longest drought in the Major Leagues for a team without hitting for the cycle. The last Reds player to achieve the feat was Eric Davis vs. the Padres on June 2, 1989.
It is ironic that De La Cruz was assigned No. 44 by the Reds, paying homage to Davis, who currently is a front office executive with Cincinnati and among De La Cruz’s mentors. Since the day De La Cruz entered the Reds organization, he has been compared to Davis, with his slender build, speed and extreme power.
