NEW YORK/TORONTO/STOCKHOLM (April 26, 2023) – The National Hockey League (NHL) and the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA), in conjunction with Live Nation, today announced plans for the 2023 NHL Global Series™ – Sweden, which will feature the Detroit Red WingsMinnesota WildOttawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs in a slate of four regular-season games to take place Nov. 16-19 at Avicii Arena in Stockholm, Sweden. These games will mark the 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th games played in Stockholm, which has hosted more NHL regular-season games than any other city outside of North America.

Each team will play two regular-season games in Stockholm as part of the 2023 NHL Global Series – Sweden:

The 2023 NHL Global Series is promoted by Live Nation Sweden, with official partners CCM, Fastenal, SAP and Upper Deck. Aftonbladet and Viaplay will serve as the official media partners of the event. Tickets and fan travel packages to the 2023 NHL Global Series – Sweden will go on sale at 10 a.m. CET on Wednesday, May 3, at LiveNation.se/NHL.

To date, there have been 38 NHL regular-season games played outside of North America, including 32 played in Europe. There have been 13 NHL regular-season games played in Sweden, 12 of which were played in Stockholm at Ericsson Globe. The 2023 NHL Global Series – Sweden will mark the 10th season overall that the NHL has traveled to Europe to play regular-season games. These games reward the legions of loyal and passionate fans in Europe that enjoy live NHL games available via international broadcast and media partners, including Nova, MySports, Sky Sports, ProSieben, Viaplay and YLE, as well as the NHL’s streaming service, NHL.TV. The NHL’s biggest star players are also featured across numerous social media platforms, and on NHL.com in eight languages, for the League’s international fans.

The 2023 NHL Global Series – Sweden will highlight a regular-season record four NHL clubs in one European city for games and will mark the first time the Maple Leafs will play NHL regular-season games outside of North America, as Toronto will become the 26th franchise to play in such a game. The event will be the second time that both the Red Wings and Wild have traveled abroad to play regular-season games, and the third such trip for the Senators.
