Head Coach Wilfried Nancy on the atmosphere Crew supporters provide at Lower.com Field, given the club announced this weekend’s match will mark back-to-back sellouts and the third of the season overall including the home opener (during today’s media availability at OhioHealth Performance Center):
“I love it. One – you know the stadium is a sellout – we are proud because it is a good message from the fans. Like I told you, we play also for them. The atmosphere like this, we can see the connection. Our job is to maintain that. That is why all the time I tell my players that, ‘Guys, yes, you play for your contract and you play for your ego, but you play for the fans. You play for them. You want to create something with them. The way you are going to work, the way you are going to run, the way you are going to try to do things, you are going to provoke emotions.’ That is why they like it, and that is why also I am extremely demanding of my players because we have to respect that… Like I told you, I don’t know how many games that we are going to win, but what I know is I want my players to do everything on the pitch to create this kind of emotion.”
