The NHL’s premier global esports competition — the 2023 EA SPORTS™ NHL 23 World Championship™ — is heading into its final stretch with finalists already confirmed for the European Championship and the North American Console Finals taking place this weekend. The final stages of EA SPORTS NHL 23 European Championship qualificationtook place over the weekend, with the top two players from each console generation securing their place in the European Championship on May 6 in Gothenburg, Sweden. Full bracket results for each generation can be found here: Generation 4 & Generation 5. Expanded player profiles will be available in next week’s CHEL Intel.
The following players will vie for the EA SPORTS NHL 23 European Championship:
xBurns8 – Hannes Kettunen (Vantaa, Finland) *Generation 4 Winner
Temppanen – Teemu Karvonen (Oulu, Finland) *Generation 5 Winner
NikkeDangles – Niklas Tukiainen (Vantaa, Finland) *Generation 5 Runner-Up
EkiOriginal – Erik Tammenpää (Helsinki, Finland) *Generation 4 Runner-Up
The North American Console Generation Finals continue this weekend with the semifinals and final of each console generation played live on the NHL’s Twitch channel.
Saturday, April 29 – North American Console Final (Generation 4) – 1 p.m. ET

The top two players from each console generation will move on to the EA SPORTS NHL 23 North American Championship, to be contested on May 20 at District E Powered by Ticketmaster in Washington, D.C. Full bracket results for each generation console can be found here: Generation 4 & Generation 5.
