NHL News: Start Times Set for 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs First Round Games on April 25 and April 27

NEW YORK (April 21, 2023) – The National Hockey League today announced the following updates to the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs First Round schedule:

Tuesday, April 25

  • The start time of Game 5 of the First Round series between the New York Islanders and Carolina Hurricanes is set for 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday, April 25, in Raleigh. The game will be televised on ESPN in the U.S. In Canada, the game will be on SNE, SNO, SNP and TVA Sports.
  • The start time of Game 5 of the First Round series between the Minnesota Wild and Dallas Stars is set for 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday, April 25, in Dallas. The game will be televised on TBS in the U.S. In Canada, the game will be on SN360 and TVAS2.
  • The start time of Game 5 of the First Round series between the Los Angeles Kings and Edmonton Oilers is set for 9:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday, April 25, in Edmonton. The game will be televised on Sportsnet, CBC and TVA Sports in Canada. In the U.S., the game will be on ESPN.

Thursday, April 27

  • The start time of Game 5 of the First Round series between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Toronto Maple Leafs is set for 7 p.m. ET on Thursday, April 27, in Toronto. The game will be televised on Sportsnet, CBC and TVA Sports in Canada. U.S. national broadcast information will be announced when it is available.
  • The start time of the potential Game 5, if necessary, of the First Round series between the New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers is set for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, in New Jersey. The game will be televised on ESPN2 in the U.S. Canadian national broadcast information will be announced when it is available.
  • The start time and national broadcast information for Game 5 of the First Round series between the Winnipeg Jets and Vegas Golden Knights, scheduled for Thursday, April 27, in Las Vegas, will be announced when it is available.
