Jeff White moves to executive vice president, business affairs
FLUSHING, N.Y., April 12, 2023 – The New York Mets announced today that Katie Haas will join the organization on May 1 as the club’s Executive Vice President of Ballpark Operations and Experience.
Haas was previously the Chief Executive Officer of the Western & Southern Open, an ATP Masters 1000 & WTA 1000 combined tournament in Cincinnati. Before she was named CEO, she served for three years as the tournament’s first-ever Chief Operating Officer. From 2006-2018, Haas worked in the Red Sox front office, spending three years in Boston from 2006-2009 before a nine-year stint leading the team’s Florida business operations.
“Katie brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our organization that will shape our strategy as we continue to make the Citi Field experience second-to-none,” Mets Owner, CEO and Chairman Steve Cohen said. “Her commitment to operational excellence makes her the perfect addition to our team. We are thrilled to welcome Katie to the Mets family.”
“I am incredibly honored and excited to join the Mets organization,” Haas said. “The opportunity to be a part of the vision that Steve has for the team is truly thrilling. I am looking forward to collaborating with the talented and dedicated individuals within the organization to create world-class fan experiences and elevate operational efficiency.”
In her role at the Western & Southern Open, Haas oversaw all business operations at the summer’s second-largest tennis tournament behind only the US Open. With the Red Sox, she led all business operations in Ft. Myers, the spring home of the team, including overseeing the construction and opening of JetBlue Park in 2012.
Jeff White, Executive Vice President of Operations, will transition into a new role as Executive Vice President of Business Affairs. White will report to Vice Chairman Andy Cohen and take on special capital, financial and infrastructure projects for ownership while continuing to oversee minor league operations during this transition.
