Former Blue Jackets Wennberg & Bjorkstrand return to Nationwide Arena in Kraken’s 4-2 win

BLUE JACKETS TEAM NOTES

  • The Blue Jackets had their three-game points streak (2-0-1) snapped and now have points in six of their last eight games (4-2-2) following tonight’s loss to the Seattle Kraken. 
  • Columbus dropped both games in the 2022-23 season series vs. Seattle.  The Jackets had swept the 2021-22 season series.
  • The club’s blueliners posted 1-2-3 tonight and have now recorded 4-15-19 in the last 12 games (25-71-96 in 63 games this season).
  • With one power play goal today, Columbus has now scored on 11-of-46 power play chances over the last 17 games dating back to Jan. 21 (23.9 pct.).
  • Columbus has allowed 31 goals over the last 11 games (2.82) since Feb. 10.
  • CBJ play their 13th of 17 back-to-back sets this season with games vs. Seattle on Friday and at Ottawa on Saturday.

«  The Blue Jackets were led by LW Johnny Gaudreau, D Erik Gudbranson and C Boone Jenner in shots (4), RW Mathieu Olivier in hits (5) and Gudbranson in blocked shots (6) and TOI (24:02).

«  D Adam Boqvist recorded his third multi-point effort of the season with one goal and one assist, giving him 3-5-8 in his last eight contests.  With 3-15-18 in 29 appearances, he has set a new single-season career high in assists (previously, 14 in 35 GP with Chicago in 2020-21).

«  LW Patrik Laine notched his 12th multi-point contest of the season with one goal and one assist, giving him points in two-straight games (1-2-3).  He now has 4-6-10 in his last nine contests and 9-16-25 with seven multi-point efforts in 23 outings since Jan. 10.  The forward improved to 2-1-3 in three career games vs. Seattle.

«  LW Johnny Gaudreau tallied his team-leading 40th assist of the campaign to give him 1-5-6 in his last eight games and points in 11 of his last 16 contests (3-11-14).  He is the 13th different player in franchise history to record 40 assists in a season.  The forward now has 2-4-6 in five career games against the Kraken, including three assists in his last two home outings vs. the club.

«  D Erik Gudbranson registered his 11th assist of the season, giving him assists in two of his past three games (0-2-2; overall, 1-11-12 in 61 GP).
