  • Ohio State will close out the home portion of the regular season on Wednesday night by hosting Maryland.
  • The brief series with Maryland has been close as the Terrapins hold a slim 11-9 edge with wins in the last two meetings.
  • In the first meeting this season, Maryland opened the second half on a 14-0 run and would hold on for an 80-73 victory on Jan. 8, in College Park. Brice Sensabaugh and Justice Sueing each scored over 20 points in the game but no one else had more than eight points. Jahmir Young led Maryland with 30 points as he was 13-of-15 from the free throw line.
  • Wednesday will be Senior Night for graduates Justice Sueing, Ice Likekele and Sean McNeil as well as student managers Jacob Egelhoff and Corey Felder.
  • Ohio State snapped its nine-game losing streak on Sunday with a 72-60 win vs. Illinois. The Buckeyes closed the game by making its final seven shots and held the Illini to their second-lowest point total of the season. Sueing recorded his first double-double of the season and Bruce Thornton scored a game-high 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting.
  • Thornton is averaging 18.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and is shooting over 65 percent over the last two games.
  • Brice Sensabaugh leads the team in scoring at 16.5 points per game. He has scored 479 points this season and is looking to become just the sixth Buckeye freshmen to score 500 points in their inaugural season. Sensabaugh has scored in double-figures in all but three games this season.
  • Eugene Brown III has stepped up off the bench after Zed Key’s season-ending injury and had his best game of the season vs. Illinois. He was 4-for-4 from the floor and 1-of-1 from distance for nine points to go along with four rebounds and two steals.
  • Ohio State is locked into the 13th seed in next week’s Big Ten Tournament and will play the first game on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. ET.
  • Maryland still has a chance to claim a share of a Big Ten regular season title with a pair of wins and a pair of Purdue losses in the final week.
