Wright State visits Pittsburgh tonight for rematch against Robert Morris, 7 PM

MOON TOWNSHIP, PA – The Wright State men’s basketball team looks to bounce back from its triple overtime defeat on Saturday night as the Raiders take on Robert Morris in metro Pittsburgh. Both Wright State and Robert Morris are coming off Thursday losses that snapped what had been multi-game winning streaks. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. from the UPMC Events Center.

Fans can follow the action several ways – via live stats, by watching on ESPN+ or by tuning in on WONE 980 AM. Chris Collins and Jim Brown will have all the play-by-play on the radio feed.

LAST TIME OUT
Trey Calvin scored 20 points after the end of regulation, finishing with a career-high 44 points, but Youngstown State’s basket at the buzzer handed Wright State a 91-89 defeat in triple overtime Thursday night on the road in Horizon League action. Starting with the final basket to send the game to OT, Calvin either tied the game or gave the Raiders the lead on eight different occasions down the stretch. His 44 points marked the fifth 40-point game in the Horizon League this season.

TRIPLE (OT) THE DETAILS. . .
Trey Calvin’s 44 points on Feb. 2 at Youngstown State in the triple overtime loss were one point shy of Wright State’s single-game record 45 points set by Bill Edwards Dec. 8, 1992 (129-63 regulation home win over Morehead State. Calvin’s 44 points were four points shy of the most points scored in an NCAA Division I game this season.

(ROBERT) MORRIS TO COME
-Robert Morris won the first meeting of the season back on Dec. 1 despite a season-high 18 points from Tim Finke, 10 points from Trey Calvin and a nine point effort from Brandon Noel.
-Wright State and Robert Morris have met just seven times in the Raiders’ 53 seasons of basketball, with Wright State taking four of the five meetings as Horizon League foes. The first meeting came Jan. 24, 1977 inside the old Physical Education Building on the Wright State campus – an 80-76 Raider victory. The following season, the Raiders made the return trip to Robert Morris and came back home with a 90-81 victory on Jan. 26, 1978. 

COLONIAL ROAD
-Robert Morris is 11-13 overall with a 6-7 mark in the Horizon League and a 7-3 home record. The Colonials are a combined 4-10 away from the UPMC Events Center this season, but play four of their final seven games at home down the stretch. 
-A Thursday night loss to NKU snapped what had been a three-game winning streak for Robert Morris.
-Kahliel Spear recorded his second consecutive and eighth double-double of the season against NKU Thursday, finishing with 17 points and 10 rebounds after being named the Horizon League Player of the Week back on Monday. Spear became the 15th RMU player with 1,000 points and 500 rebounds after reaching the points mark last week against Oakland.

ALL IN (OVER)TIME
With the addition of the Feb. 2 triple overtime game at Youngstown State, just the third triple OT contest in program history, Wright State has now played each of its last five multiple overtime games on the road. The last time the Raiders played a home game that went multiple overtimes was a 104-102 double OT victory over Charleston back on Jan. 20, 1986 in the old PE Building. 

NATIONALLY SPEAKING
Wright State’s 49.6 overall season shooting percentage to date is tied for 6th-best in the country behind Gonzaga (1, 52.1 percent), Colgate (2, 50.8), Marquette (3, 50.2) and Indiana (5, 49.74. The Raiders are tied with UC Santa Barbra at 49.6 percent. Trey Calvin’s 372 total field goals attempts is No. 8 nationally and his 180 field goals made is ranked 9th, while Brandon Noel’s 60.8 percent field goal percentage is tops in the Horizon League and is No. 20 nationally in shooting percentage.
