CINCINNATI — The No. 8 Xavier University Musketeers, 15-4 overall and 7-1 in the BIG EAST Conference, look to bounce back from their first league setback of the season when they host the Georgetown University Hoyas on Saturday at noon.

Xavier, which leads the BIG EAST, is off to its best start ever in BIG EAST play after eight games.

Xavier, 15-4 overall, had its 11-game winning streak snapped at DePaul on Wednesday, 73-72. That was XU’s longest win streak since XU started the 2015-16 season at 12-0.

• Xavier is eighth in this week’s AP Poll and USA Today Coaches Poll. XU is No. 22 in the NCAA’s NET ranking and No. 20 in the KenPom rankings.

• Xavier, in its 10th BIG EAST Conference season, leads the league at 7-1.

• Xavier graduate student Souley Boum, XU’s leading scorer at 16.9 ppg. (second in the BIG EAST), was named this week to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association’s Oscar Robertson Trophy Midseason Watch List and the Sporting News Midseason All-America Second Team. He scored an XU career-high 28 points (20 in the second half) in the first Georgetown game.

• Xavier’s Souley Boum leads the BIG EAST in assist-to-turnover ratio for league games at 4.8-to-1.0. For all games Boum is second on the team and seventh in the BIG EAST in assists at 4.9 apg. and first on the team and fifth in the BIG EAST in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.7).

• Xavier junior Colby Jones leads XU in assists at 5.3 apg. (second in the BIG EAST and 25th in the nation) to go with 14.0 ppg. (17th in the BIG EAST).

• Xavier graduate student Jack Nunge is second on the team in scoring at 14.8 ppg. (13th in the BIG EAST) and is second on the team in rebounding at 8.1 rpg. (fifth in the BIG EAST), including double-doubles in each of the last three games. Nunge has grabbed 22 offensive rebounds over the last three games combined.

• Xavier senior Zach Freemantle leads the team in rebounding at 8.3 rpg. (fourth in the BIG EAST) and is third in scoring at 14.6 ppg. (15th in the BIG EAST).

• Xavier’s balanced scoring attack boasts four players in the top 20 in the BIG EAST: Souley Boum (second at 16.9 ppg.), Jack Nunge (13th at 14.8 ppg.), Zach Freemantle (15th at 14.6 ppg.) and Colby Jones (17th at 14.0 ppg.). Adam Kunkel is also in double figures at 10.4 ppg.

• Xavier leads the nation in assists per game at 20.6 apg. In addition, XU is second in the BIG EAST and eighth in the nation in overall field goal percentage (.498) and is first in the BIG EAST and 15th in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage (.390). XU leads the BIG EAST in scoring at 83.5 ppg., which ranks 13th in the nation.
