CINCINNATI — The Xavier University Musketeers, 15-3 overall and in first place in the BIG EAST Conference at 7-0, take an 11-game winning streak to Chicago on Wednesday for a clash with the DePaul University Blue Demons.
Xavier moved up to No. 8 in this week’s Associated Press Poll and No. 8 in the USA Today Coaches Poll. XU is off to its best start ever in BIG EAST play.

Xavier, 15-3 overall, won its 11th-straight game on Sunday, 80-76 over No. 25 Marquette. This is XU’s longest win streak since XU started the 2015-16 season at 12-0.
• Xavier moved up to eighth in this week’s AP Poll and USA Today Coaches Poll. XU is No. 17 in the NCAA’s NET ranking and No. 15 in the KenPom rankings.
• Xavier, in its 10th BIG EAST season, is off to its best start ever in BIG EAST play at 7-0.
• Xavier is 4-0 in true road games this season, including 3-0 in BIG EAST play.
• Xavier’s balanced scoring attack boasts four players in the top 20 in the BIG EAST: Souley Boum (first at 17.6 ppg.), Jack Nunge (14th at 14.8 ppg.), Zach Freemantle (15th at 14.4 ppg.) and Colby Jones (17th at 14.4 ppg.). Adam Kunkel is also in double figures at 10.1 ppg.
• Xavier leads the nation in assists per game at 21.1 apg. In addition, XU leads the BIG EAST and is third in the nation in overall field goal percentage (.506) and is first in the BIG EAST and sixth in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage (.402). XU leads the BIG EAST in scoring at 84.2 ppg., which ranks 10th in the nation.
• Xavier graduate student Souley Boum has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week for his efforts in wins this past week over Creighton and Marquette after averaging 21.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game. He leads the BIG EAST in scoring at 17.6 ppg. He is second on the team in assists (seventh in the BIG EAST at 4.9 apg.).
• Xavier’s Souley Boum has 2,169 career collegiate points, which ranks fifth among all active NCAA Division I players. Boum also played at UTEP and San Francisco.
• Xavier junior Colby Jones leads XU in assists at 5.5 apg. (second in the BIG EAST and 20th in the nation) to go with 14.4 ppg. (17th in the BIG EAST).
• Xavier graduate student Jack Nunge is second on the team in scoring at 14.8 ppg. (14th in the BIG EAST) and is second on the team in rebounding at 7.8 rpg. (fifth in the BIG EAST) following two straight double-doubles in the Creighton and Marquette wins. Nunge had eight offensive rebounds in each game.
• Xavier senior Zach Freemantle leads the team in rebounding at 8.1 rpg. (fourth in the BIG EAST) and third in scoring at 14.4 ppg. (15th in the BIG EAST).
