Saint Joseph’s Cameron Brown has been named the Philadelphia Big 5 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the two-week period ending January 1, organization officials announced on Monday.
Over three contests, the Hawks’ captain averaged 20.0 points, 8.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game, while shooting 48.9 percent from the field (21-43), and connecting on 16-28 from three-point range. In a victory over Sacred Heart, Brown finished with 19 points and had 11 boards for his fourth double-double of the year, while adding four assists. He followed with a game-high 24 points and added five rebounds and five assists in a win over CCSU, and then added 17 points, nine rebounds and three assists in the Hawks’ A-10 opener versus Saint Louis.
Brown and the Hawks return to action on Wednesday at Dayton at 7 p.m.
