This Is The Seventh Weekly PFL Award In Chisholm’s Career

ST. LOUIS – University of Dayton senior running back Jake Chisholm was named this week’s Pioneer Football League Offensive Player of the Week after a big day on Senior Day in UD’s 49-27 win over Morehead State on Saturday.

This is Chisholm’s seventh PFL weekly award of his career.

Chisholm carried the ball 34 times for 205 yards (with two touchdowns) and caught two passes for 54 yards.  It was his third straight 100-yard game this season, giving him 14 for his career.  That ties him with Dave Jones and Connor Kacsor for the most 100-yard games in a Flyer uniform.

The UD co-captain reached one milestone and put himself withing striking distance for another.  He surpassed the 3,000 yard in rushing for his career and is 40 yards away from being the first Dayton running back to have three 1,000 yard seasons.

Chisholm leads the PFL in scoring (12.0) and is second in rushing (96.0).  He is third in FCS football in carries (214).

The Flyers are 8-2 overall and 6-1 in the PFL, one game back of 7-0 St. Thomas.  Dayton closes out the regular season on Saturday at Davidson.  The winner of that game earns the PFL’s auto bid in the 2022 FCS playoffs.  A Flyer win and a St. Thomas loss at Butler also gives Dayton as share of PFL regular season championship.  (As a transitional D-I institution, St. Thomas is not eligible to participate in the FCS playoffs.)
