Wright State Men’s Basketball News: Raiders with three potential ESPN linear selections in #HLMBB play

INDIANAPOLIS/DAYTON – The Horizon League released on Thursday the League’s television schedule for the upcoming 2022-23 men’s basketball season, with Wright State men’s basketball selected for three potential regular season contests.

A total of eight Horizon League matchups will air on ESPN linear networks including five during the regular season. All regular season games during the 2022-23 season will be “wildcard” selections to ensure the best matchups possible.

The Raiders had three regular season ESPN linear games last season before a pair of ESPN linear broadcasts in the Horizon League Championship on the way to the HL title. Wright State added two more national linear television broadcasts in the NCAA Tournament, including a victory over Bryant in the First Four matchup.

Oakland and Purdue Fort Wayne led the way with the most potential selections with four wildcard dates, including a potential matchup on Dec. 3 between the two teams on ESPNU. Cleveland State, Detroit Mercy, Northern Kentucky and Wright State were each tabbed with three potential wildcard game selections while Youngstown State has two possible ESPN linear game selections.

All games in 2022 will be a part of the Horizon League’s “Anything Can Happen” campaign and fans can follow along on social media by using #HLMBBonESPN. Last season, four out of the five games were decided by single digits with three of those games decided by four points or less.

Continuing a relationship that began with the 1988 Midwestern Collegiate Conference men’s basketball championship game, the entire Horizon League Men’s Basketball Championship in Indianapolis will appear on ESPN linear networks from the Indiana Farmers Coliseum. The action begins on Monday, March 6 with semifinal No. 1 at 7 p.m. ET and semifinal No. 2 at 9:30 p.m. ET with both games on either ESPN2 or ESPNU. The championship game on Tuesday, March 7 will be shown on either ESPN or ESPN2 at 7 p.m. ET.

ESPN+ continues to be the home for the League’s live streaming game content, a relationship that began during the 2014-15 season. The Horizon League has streamed every League basketball game for an industry-best 16 consecutive seasons, beginning its streak in 2007 with the groundbreaking Horizon League Network.
