Columbus Blue Jackets News: ANNOUNCES CHANGES WITHIN CLUB’S HOCKEY OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT

COLUMBUS, OHIO – Columbus Blue Jackets General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced several changes to the club’s hockey operations department recently.

Tim LeRoy, who has served as the club’s equipment manager since prior to the inaugural 2000-01 season, has left the organization.  Jamie Healy, who has been with the club since 2000, has been promoted to equipment manager.  Also, Dustin Halstead has been hired as an assistant equipment manager after working as the equipment manager of the American Hockey League’s Lake Erie/Cleveland Monsters for the last 11 seasons dating back to 2011.

Longtime NHL executive Trevor Timmins has joined the organization as assistant director of amateur scouting.  He has served in various capacities with the Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens over 28 seasons, including the past five as an assistant general manager with the Canadiens. 

The club also announced the hiring of a trio of amateur scouts.  Marshall Davidson, who previously worked for the team from 2013-19, returns to the organization after spending the past two campaigns with the New York Rangers.  Dale Derkatch joins the club after previously serving as a scout for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Washington Capitals.  Former NHL defenseman Roman Polak, who played 14 NHL seasons with the St. Louis Blues, Maple Leafs, San Jose Sharks and Dallas Stars from 2006-20, will serve as an amateur scout.  In addition, amateur scouts Milan Tichy and Stephane LeBlanc are no longer with the organization.

The team also announced that Julie Gamble has been promoted to director of team travel and logistics, while Zac Urback has been promoted to director of hockey analytics.  In addition, Alex Campbell has been promoted to reserve list scout as well as Mikko Mikela and Todd White have been promoted to full-time pro scouts.  Mike Eaves will also serve as a pro scout in 2022-23 after serving as the head coach for the Monsters for the last three seasons.
