NEW PHILANTHROPIC INITIATIVE—BIRDIES FOR NATIONWIDE CHILDREN’S—WILL DIRECTLY BENEFIT THE MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT AT NATIONWIDE CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
DUBLIN, Ohio – The Memorial Tournament presented by Workday announced today a new commitment from Columbus-based global private aviation leader NetJets to support Nationwide Children’s Hospital through a new charitable initiative that will debut at the 47th playing of the official PGA TOUR event founded and hosted annually by Jack Nicklaus. Birdies for Nationwide Children’s presented by NetJets will provide a $25 donation on behalf of NetJets to Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Memorial Tournament Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for each birdie made during competition at the 2022 Memorial Tournament.
The new program was made possible thanks to NetJets and their shared philanthropic vision with the Memorial Tournament to support Nationwide Children’s, which has been a primary beneficiary of the Tournament since its inception in 1976. In turn, the Memorial will join NetJets and match their final Birdies for Nationwide Children’s donation to the NICU.
“NetJets has been the private aviation provider for the PGA TOUR since 2014, and it’s been our pleasure being involved with the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday in our hometown of Columbus, Ohio. The Birdies for Nationwide Children’s is a natural cause for us to support, and we couldn’t be more excited to watch our NetJets Brand Ambassadors—and all the players—during this year’s Tournament.”
—Adam Johnson, Chairman and CEO, NetJets
Advancing newborn critical care in the Memorial Tournament NICU is already evident with its family-centered environment that provides the highest quality of medical care for premature and sick infants. As part of the largest neonatal network in the country, the Memorial Tournament NICU is comprised of rigorously trained neonatologists, advanced-practice nurses and therapists who utilize an interdisciplinary care approach to diagnose and treat patients suffering from complications of prematurity, complex birth defects, respiratory distress and metabolic diseases. This combined expertise makes the Memorial Tournament NICU at Nationwide Children’s one of the finest in the nation.
