NHL News: NHL fines Avalanche’s O’Connor, MacDermid Fined

NEW YORK (April 30, 2022) – Colorado Avalanche forward Logan O’Connor has been fined $1,812.50 for cross-checking Minnesota Wild defenseman Dmitry Kulikov and Colorado Avalanche defenseman Kurtis MacDermid has been fined $2,187.50 for kneeing Minnesota Wild forward Marcus Foligno, both during NHL Game No. 1308 in Minnesota on Friday, April 29, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The O’Connor incident occurred at 2:05 of the first period. He was assessed a minor penalty for boarding.

The MacDermid incident occurred at 5:25 of the first period. He was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for kneeing.

The fine money, both the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
