Columbus Blue Jackets News: PLACE CENTER BOONE JENNER ON INJURED RESERVE, RECALL RIGHT WING TREY FIX-WOLANSKY

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed center Boone Jenner on Injured Reserve retroactive to March 11 and added right wing Trey Fix-Wolansky to the roster on emergency recall from the Cleveland Monsters, the team’s American Hockey League affiliate, club General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Jenner, 28, who is considered week-to-week with a lower back injury, has posted 23 goals and 21 assists for 44 points with 22 penalty minutes, eight power play goals, three game-winning goals and 160 shots, while averaging 20:27 in 59 games in 2021-22.  Serving in his first season as the team’s captain, he leads the Blue Jackets in goals, points and PPG.  A native of Dorchester, Ontario, he has totaled 144-140-284 with 331 PIM, 29 PPG and 23 GWG in 589 career games since making his NHL debut with the club in 2013-14.  The 6-2, 205-pound forward was selected by Columbus in the second round, 37th overall, at the 2011 NHL Draft.

Fix-Wolansky, 22, has recorded 1-1-2 with four shots in five games with the Blue Jackets this season.  He scored a goal in his NHL debut on February 8 at Washington (Pheonix Copley) and added his first career assist two days later at Buffalo.  The Edmonton, Alberta native has registered 11-11-12 with 27 PIM, one power play goal, three GWG and 87 shots in 32 contests with the Monsters this season.  He has racked up 27-30-57 with 61 PIM, 10 PPG, seven GWG and 201 shots in 84 regular season AHL appearances with the Monsters since making his professional debut in the 2019 Calder Cup playoffs.  The 5-7, 186-pound forward was selected by Columbus in the seventh round, 204th overall, at the 2017 NHL Draft.
