COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have added goaltender Daniil Tarasov to the roster on emergency recall from the Cleveland Monsters, the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Tarasov, 22, has went 0-2-0 with a 2.22 goals-against average and .936 save percentage in three appearances, including two starts, with the Blue Jackets this season from December 2-7. He set the franchise record for the most saves in an NHL debut with 34 in a 3-2 loss at Dallas on December 2.
The Novokuznetsk, Russia native has posted a 9-5-3 record with a 3.09 GAA and .894 SV% in 17 games with Cleveland since making his AHL debut at the end of the 2020-21 season. He has posted a 5-3-3 mark with a 3.06 GAA and .893 SV% in 11 appearances this season, winning five-straight games and posting a 2.18 GAA and. 920 SV% from November 12-26. The 6-6, 196-pound netminder was selected by Columbus in the third round, 86th overall, at the 2017 NHL Draft.
