INDIANAPOLIS/DAYTON – Wright State redshirt-junior Grant Basile has been named the first Horizon League Player of the Week of the season, the League office announced on Monday.
Basile turned in a career-best 37 points on Friday night as the Raiders went on the road against Marshall, and ended the first week of play with a 25.0 points per game average through a pair of contests. Against Marshall, Basile was 12-of-21 from the floor and added a 12-for-14 mark from the free throw stripe. He’s shooting 62 percent from the floor early on after opening the season with a 6-of-8 shooting night with 13 points in a win over Lake Erie, tallying his first double-double after adding 13 rebounds and four blocks.
