COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed right wing Emil Bemstrom on Injured Reserve, club General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.  Bemstrom suffered a left oblique strain in practice on Tuesday and is expected to miss four-to-six weeks.

Bemstrom, 22, has registered 13 goals and 12 assists for 25 points with eight penalty minutes, six power play goals and 125 shots on goal in 76 career games since making his NHL debut with the Blue Jackets in 2019-20.  The Nykoping, Sweden native notched 3-2-5 and a +2 plus/minus rating in 20 appearances with the team in 2020-21.  He led club rookies in goals (10), points (20), and power play goals (five), while playing in 56 contests in 2019-20.  The 6-0, 193-pound forward was selected by Columbus in the fourth round, 117th overall, at the 2017 NHL Draft.
