This day marks the anniversary of the Allies’ victory during World War II. Japan agreed to surrender unconditionally, virtually ending the war. The world didn’t hear this announcement until the following day, and the surrender wasn’t official until September 2, when U.S. general Douglas MacArthur presided over the signing of the surrender document on board the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay. MacArthur had already set up headquarters in Yokohama, becoming the first foreign conquering general to enter Japan in more than 2,000 years. Victory Day is a state holiday in Rhode Island in the United States on the second Monday of August each year.

My coder is trying to convince me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the costs. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on a number of websites for about a year and am nervous about switching to another platform. I have heard great things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can import all my wordpress posts into it? Any kind of help would be really appreciated!
