CHICAGO – Prior to Friday night’s series opener vs. Houston, the Chicago White Sox announced the following five roster moves:

• Reinstated LHP Aaron Bummer from the 10-day injured list;

• Recalled RHP Reynaldo López from Class AAA Charlotte;

• Optioned RHP Matt Foster and LHP Jace Fry to Charlotte;

• Sent INF/OF Jake Lamb on a rehabilitation assignment to Charlotte.

Bummer, 27, has been on the injured list since June 30 (retroactive to June 28) with a strained right hamstring. He is 1-4 with a 3.26 ERA (11 ER/30.1 IP), 43 strikeouts (12.76 per 9.0 IP), two saves and 10 holds over 32 relief appearances in 2021.

          López, 27, has spent the entire season with the Knights, going 1-6 with a 7.62 ERA (33 ER/39.0 IP) and 50 strikeouts in 10 starts. He allowed just one run on three hits with eight strikeouts over 6.0 IP in his last start on July 9 at Jacksonville.

          Foster, 26, is 2-1 with a 6.15 ERA (18 ER/26.1 IP), 32 strikeouts, one save and two holds in 26 relief appearances this season, his second with Chicago.

          Fry, 28, has allowed three runs in 2.0 IP over two games in 2021 after starting the season on the injured list to continue his recovery from an offseason microdiscectomy. He is 0-0 with a 1.93 ERA (3 ER/14.0 IP) and 21 strikeouts in 13 games with Charlotte.

          Lamb, 30, has been on the injured list since June 29 (retroactive to June 28) with a strained right quadriceps. He is batting .224 (19-85) with five home runs, 10 RBI and 16 runs scored over 31 games this season, his first with the White Sox.
