Collin Morikawa led the 2021 Memorial Tournament after Thursday’s weather-shortened opening round.
After a play was suspended twice due to inclement weather, the first-round play was suspended for the day at 6:41 p.m. Thursday.
Eventhough Morikawa is in the clubhouse with a 6-under 66, some golfers were still playing their first rounds.
Morikawa held a one-shot lead over Adam Long.
The course at Muirfield Village is no stranger to the 24-year-old Morikawa. In the summer of 2020, he won the Workday Charity Open in a three-hole playoff, by shooting a 6-under-par 66.
Tied for third place after the shortened round with three other players is a fan favorite.
Upper Arlington native and former Ohio State Buckeyes golfer Bo Hoag is at 4-under par.
