The top five teams after Wednesday’s final round will qualify for the NCAA Championship

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Ohio State posted another solid round of 3-under 285 on Tuesday in the second round of the NCAA Tallahassee Regional and are in fifth place with a round to go.

The top five teams and top individual not on one of those five teams after Wednesday’s round will qualifying to the NCAA Championship in two weeks at the Grayhawk Golf Club.

Just like in round one, the Buckeyes started on the tougher back nine and played it better today, making the turn at 1-over for the day. On the front, the Buckeyes didn’t make as many birdies as in round one, but it was enough to elevate them into fifth place at 7-under par. OSU has a four-shot lead on sixth place TCU and is just two shots behind Georgia for fourth place.

Individually, Felix Kvarnstrom came home with a second nine 33 to post a 2-under par 70. He birdied his final two holes, including the par-4 ninth, which played as the hardest hole on Tuesday. In fact, there were a total of four birdies on the ninth hole each of the first two rounds. Kvarnstrom birdied the hole both days and so did his teammate Maxwell Moldovan. The Buckeye freshman posted a second consecutive round of 1-under 71 and is tied with Kvarnstrom in 18th place.

Jackson Chandler followed his opening round 70 with an even-par 72 and joins his teammates in 18th place at 2-under par. Elis Svard is a shot behind those three at 1-under par as he too posted a 72 in the second round. Adam Wallin bettered his opening round score by two, carding a 2-over 74 on Tuesday.

For the third consecutive day, Ohio State will start on the back nine. The Buckeyes will be off at 8:30 a.m. and are paired with Georgia and TCU. Follow along all day on Golfstat.com.
