DOUG IN
Dougie Hamilton posted an assist at Columbus (3/22) to extend his point streak to 12 games (2/27-3/22: 2g, 12a) and notch the longest point streak by
a defenseman in franchise history. The record was previously held by Mark Howe (1/12/80-2/6/80: 6g, 18a), set in Hartford’s first NHL season. His
streak is the longest active point streak in the NHL and the longest by any NHL defenseman this season. Hamilton now trails Auston Matthews (TOR,
1/24-2/20: 16g, 8a in 13 GP) by one game for the longest point streak by any NHL player in 2020-21. He is just the fourth NHL defenseman since 1997-
98 to record a point in at least 12 consecutive games, joining Roman Josi (NSH, 2019-20), Shayne Gostisbehere (PHI, 2015-16) and Mathieu Schneider
(DET, 2006-07). Hamilton has also tallied an assist in each of his last four games (3/16-3/22: 4a), and his team-leading 22 assists rank fourth among
NHL defensemen in 2020-21.

DAWN OF THE NED
Alex Nedeljkovic stopped all 19 shots he faced against the Blue Jackets (3/22) to record his second career NHL/Hurricanes shutout and his second of
2020-21. He is just the second rookie goaltender in franchise history to record at least two shutouts, joining Peter Sidorkiewicz (4 SO in 1998-99).
Nedeljkovic also tied Ilya Sorokin (NYI) and Kaapo Kahkonen (MIN) for the most shutouts by any NHL rookie goaltender in 2020-21. He is now 7-2-2
with a 1.96 goals-against average and a .930 save percentage this season, and he now ranks fourth in GAA and tied for third in save percentage among
NHL goaltenders 2020-21 (min. 5 GP).

SOMETHING’S FISHY
Sebastian Aho earned two assists at Columbus (3/22) for his 11th multi-point game and his second multi-assist game of the season. He has now
registered 159 assists since entering the NHL in 2016-17, tying Kevin Dineen (1984-89) for the fourth-most assists by a player in his first five career NHL
seasons in franchise history. His next assist will tie Ray Ferraro (1984-89) for third in that category. Aho has now recorded a team-leading 30 points
(13g, 17a) in 2020-21 after leading the Hurricanes in both goals (38) and points (66) last season.

THE GREAT STAAL
Jordan Staal played his 559th game with the Hurricanes against the Blue Jackets (3/22), tying Justin Faulk (2011-19) for the sixth-most games played
in team history and the 10th-most in franchise history. He also tallied his 197th Hurricanes assist on Monday, passing Dave Babych (1985-91) for the
10th-most assists in franchise history. Staal has now earned 23 points (10g, 13a) this season, and the Hurricanes have posted a 12-0-1 record in games
when he has recorded a point.

CZECH POINT
Martin Necas scored a goal at Columbus (3/22) in his 100th career NHL/Hurricanes game. He has now posted 11 points in 11 games in March (3/1-
3/22: 4g, 7a), which ranks third on the team in points this month behind Sebastian Aho (7-6—13) and Dougie Hamilton (2-11—13). In four March
games in 2019-20, he tallied one assist. Necas has registered 22 points (6g, 16a) this season, and his 16 assists lead all 2017 draftees.

FAST TRACK
Jesper Fast tallied two points (1g, 1a) against the Blue Jackets (3/22) for his third multi-point game this season. He has now earned three points in his
last two games (3/20-3/22: 1g, 2a) and five points in his last six (1g, 4a). His 14 points (4g, 10a) this season are his most through 26 games since 2017-
18 (7-8—15 in 26 GP), when he recorded a career-high 33 points (13g, 20a) with NYR.

HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY
Brady Skjei (27) and Andrei Svechnikov (21) are each celebrating their birthdays on Friday (3/26). Skjei scored his first Hurricanes goal at CBJ (3/22)
in his 38th game with the team since being acquired from NYR on 2/24/20. Svechnikov has earned 121 points (53g, 68a) in his NHL/Hurricanes career,
marking the fourth-most points by a player before his 21st birthday in franchise history and the second-most in team history (Jeff Skinner: 64-67—131).
He is also tied with Sebastian Aho for the fourth-most goals by age 21 in franchise history.

RAISING THE BAR
With a win at Columbus on Monday, the Hurricanes improved to 21-7-3 (45 points) this season, setting the franchise record for points through the team’s
first 31 games of any season. The previous record was 42 points (20-9-2), achieved in 2005-06.
