Forward One Of 10 Student-Athletes On The List For Player Of The Year

USC men’s basketball freshman forward Evan Mobley has been named a 2021 Naismith Trophy Men’s Player of the Year Semifinalist, it was announced by the Atlanta Tipoff Club today (March 4). The list is comprised of 10 student-athletes who are the current front-runners for the Player of the Year.
 
The 7-0 Mobley is averaging 16.2 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game through USC’s first 26 games of the season. His 72 total blocks rank second on USC’s all-time freshman shots blocked list and are the third most in the country this season. Mobley leads all Pac-12 players in rebounds (220), blocks and double-doubles (9).
 
Mobley is the only Division I player to be averaging at least 16.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 2.0 assists. 
 
Mobley just keeps adding on to his 2020-21 accolades which include being named to the 2021 Wooden Award Late-Season Watch List, the NABC Player of the Year Watch List, a Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Award semifinalist, a Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Award finalist and to the Pac-12 Media Preseason All-Conference First Team.
