NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – University of Dayton senior Hayden Zimmerer has been named the Atlantic 10 Golfer of the Week as announced by the conference office Friday.
George Mason freshman Nikita Gubenko took Rookie of the Week honors. The awards were for tournaments played Feb. 19-24.
Zimmerer, a Louisville, Ky., native, opened the spring 2021 season with an 11th place finish at the inaugural Pinnacle Bank Intercollegiate Feb. 22-23. He carded rounds of 74-72-73 to finish at three-over-par (219) to lead the Flyers, who finished in ninth place out of a field of 16.
Dayton is set to return to the links March 12-14 at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate. The annual event is played at the storied Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, N.C.
