Au’diese Toney leaves Pittsburgh Panthers Men’s Basketball; enters Transfer Portal

PITTSBURGH – University of Pittsburgh head coach Jeff Capel announced the departure of junior Au’Diese Toney Thursday. Toney will enter the NCAA Transfer Portal.

“We have come to the mutual agreement that Au’Diese [Toney] will be leaving the Pitt Men’s Basketball program effective immediately,” said Capel. “We appreciate his efforts the past three seasons in our program and wish him well as he looks to continue to grow on and off the court.”

Toney, who missed the Panthers’ last game with injury, was averaging 14.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. He scored in double-figures 12 times with three games with 20 or more points scored. He concludes his Pitt career with 763 points, 423 rebounds and 80 steals.

Pitt returns to action Sunday, Feb. 28 at NC State (4 pm – ACC Network). The Panthers are 9-9 on the season with a 5-8 mark in conference play with three ACC games remaining.
