Aneka Seumanutafa is in a three-way tie at the top at 2-under par
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Ohio State sophomore Aneka Seumanutafa fired a round of 2-under 68 on Monday to vault to the top of the individual leaderboard at the Gators Invitational in Gainesville.
Seumanutafa is in a three-way tie at the top with Campbell’s Anna Nordfors and Maryland’s Virunpat Olankitkunchai. That trio is three of just six players in the 75-player field under par through 36 holes.
The Emmitsburg, Md., native opened the day 2-over through her first seven holes. But she then birdied four of the next five to climb to 2-under and into a tie for first. One of those birdies came at the par-4 13th which has been the hardest hole through the first two rounds. Seumanutafa then closed with five pars to remain in a tie for the lead heading into the final round.
Fellow sophomore Lauren Peter followed her solid open round 70 with another good round of 2-over 72 on Monday. She is currently tied for 12th and just four shots back.
Kailie Vongsaga posted a round of 77 on Monday while Kristin Jamieson carded an 81 and Skylar Thompson posted an 83. As a team, the Buckeyes posted a 298 and are in 10th place.
The final round will start with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun and the Buckeyes are paired with Kentucky and Vanderbilt.
