COLUMBUS, Ohio –No. 4 Ohio State (17-4, 11-4) is back in action at 8 p.m. Thursday vs. Penn State (7-10, 4-9) at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College. The game will be televised by BTN.
GAME BASICS
· No. 4 Ohio State and Penn State play at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Bryce Jordan Center. BTN will televise. This is the second meeting of the season between the teams (OSU 83-79, Jan. 27 at VCA).
· Ohio State is 11-4 in the Big Ten after defeating Indiana at VCA last Saturday (78-59).
· Chris Holtmann’s teams are 3-4 vs. Penn State. The Buckeyes own the all-time lead in the series, 37-18. Ohio State is 11-8 in State College at the Bryce Jordan Center.
· When ranked among the Top 25 in the Associated Press poll, Ohio State is 20-8 vs. Penn State. Junior Duane Washington Jr. leads returning Ohio State players in the series with 12.8 points per game in four career meetings. Washington has connected on 16-of-33 field goals (.485) and 11-of-22 from 3-point range (.500). Sophomore E.J. Liddell is next with 11.7 ppg. in three games.
· The Buckeyes have five games remaining and have already equaled the 11 wins from 2020 in Big Ten Conference play. Ohio State has three remaining home games: vs. No. 3 Michigan, No. 14 Iowa and No. 5 Illinois. The Buckeyes travel to Penn State and Michigan State.
