Canucks’ Pettersson fined by NHL for Slashing

NEW YORK (Jan. 19, 2021) – Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson has been fined $3,987.07, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for slashing Calgary Flames forward Sean Monahan during NHL Game No. 42 in Calgary on Monday, Jan. 18, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 18:06 of the second period. Pettersson was assessed a minor penalty for high-sticking.

The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
