Blue Jackets have played in 14 one-goal games this season (3-5-6); lose in OT 3-2 to Capitals but get a point

BLUE JACKETS TEAM NOTES

  • The Blue Jackets moved to 7-6-2 in the last 15 games overall and 4-3-2 in the last nine games at Nationwide Arena following tonight’s overtime loss to the Capitals.
  • CBJ have recorded points in 11 of the last 19 games of the series since Feb. 26, 2018 (8-8-3), but Washington has won 10 of the past 12 (CBJ; 2-7-3).
  • Each of the last six games in the all-time series – seven of the last nine – have been decided by a single-goal.
  • Columbus blocked 21 shots tonight and has been credited with 439 blocked shots over the past 23 contests dating back to Nov. 6 and 648 in 34 games this season.
  • With LW Dmitri Voronkov’s assist tonight, CBJ rookies have now posted 16-28-43 in 34 games this season.
  • Columbus has played in 14 one-goal games this season (3-5-6).
  • The Blue Jackets played their eighth of 16 Thursday games this season.
  • Tonight’s attendance was a sellout crowd of 18,172.

 

BLUE JACKETS PLAYER NOTES­

  • RW Yegor Chinakhov notched a goal to extend his points streak to a career-high six-straight games (6-4-10) and has now collected 8-5-13 in the past 12 outings (overall, 9-6-15 in 23 GP).  The forward now has goals in four-straight home games (5-1-6).
  • Dmitri Voronkov tallied an assist, giving him points in four of his last six games (1-4-5) and in 16 of his first 28 NHL games (6-11-17).  He now has points in four consecutive home games (1-4-5) and in nine of the last 10 home contests (4-6-10).
  • Cole Sillinger scored a goal in his second-straight game to give him 2-1-3 in the past two contests and 3-9-12 in 29 appearances.
  • RW Emil Bemstrom recorded an assist to give him points in two consecutive games (0-2-2) and 1-4-5 in his past seven contests (overall, 4-5-9 in 19 GP).  He improved to 1-4-5 in seven career outings against Washington, including 1-2-3 in his past three contests against the club.
  • LW Johnny Gaudreau registered an assist to extend his points streak to four-straight games (2-4-6) and give him 5-10-15 in his last 17 outings.  He now has 4-16-20 with points in 14 of 21 career games vs. the Capitals, including points in seven of his past nine overall (3-6-9) and in eight of his 10 career home games (2-9-11) against the club.
