Patrik Laine came to the Blue Jackets in a trade with Vancouver for disgruntled player Pierre-Luc DuBois before last season.
Last year he struggled in the strict system of former head coach John Tortorella. But he has thrived this season in the more open style of new head coach Brad Larsen.
His 2021-22 totals: 38 games, 22 goals, 20 assists, 42 points, 7 game-winning goals and 3 overtime goals.
In a recent win over New Jersey, 4-3, he had a goal and an assist.
