Lionel Messi to some soccer experts, fans and media, is the best soccer player of all-time at 24 years of age. But he has been voted as the world’s best player for the third year in a row.

The Barcelona and Argentina forward has received the FIFA Ballon d’Or Award for the 2011 season. He beat out his club teammate Xavier Hernandez and Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid for the most prestigious honor and individual can earn in the game.

He is the first player in the 21-history of the award to win it three straight years.

In 2011, Messi helped Barcelona win the Champions League, Spanish League and Club World Cup and two other champions.
