* In 1540, England’s King Henry VIII married his fourth wife, Anne of Cleves. The marriage lasted about six months.

* In 1838, Samuel Morse and Alfred Vail gave the first successful public demonstration of their telegraph, in Morristown, New Jersey.

* Reality-TV star Dean McDermott is being treated for a punctired and collapsed lung after a dirt-bike accident Tuesday near Los Angeles. The 43-year-old McDermott, was said to have bled heavily from the puncture wound. He is to remain in intensive care for a few more days and is expected to make a full recovery.

McDermott and his wife, Tori Spelling, star in the Oxygen series Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood.

* The ladies from the TV Land series, Hot in Cleveland: Valerie Bertinelli, Betty White, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick Have taped a video message in a campaign to persuade basketball star LeBron James to stay home with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
