The Ohio State Buckeyes have had their share of injuries like most college teams during the spring football season.

The Buckeyes up until a few days ago had only two players injured. Safety Vonn Bell and wide receiver Jalin Marshall both out with knee injuries.

Now, a third has been put on the shelf.

Talented senior tight end Jeff Heuerman will miss the rest of spring football has well after having foot surgery on March 31.

Head coach Urban Meyer said that the injury will put Heuerman in a cast for six weeks and a boot. He should be ready to go in June.

The injury to Heuerman is described as a midfoot sprain.

Ohio State football fans have said for years that they want to see the team have more speed, just like the Southeastern Conference schools.

The Buckeyes received a huge commitment from Eramus Hall High School hybrid running back Curtis Samuel.

Eramus Hall High School is in the Brooklyn, New York.

Samuel, a 5’11, 186-pound speedster is the 17th member of Ohio State’s 2014 recruiting class.

Samuel rushed for 1,047 yards in 2012, averaging 11.5 yards per carry. He also caught 12 passes fro 187 yards.

Samuel, who has been clocked in the 40-yard dash at 4.36 seconds, is ranked 116th nationally by Rivals.com.

Samuel broke the Eramus Hall school record in the 60-yard dash at 6.42 seconds despite not having any previous experience in track.
