Here’s the latest news, information and milestones from the National Football League.

***When Kansas City defeated Green Bay, 19-14, handing the Packers their first loss of the season, dropping them to 13-1. It was Romeo Crennel’s first game as the Chiefs’ head coach. That ended Green Bay’s 15-game regular-season winning streak, the longest streak ended by a head coach in his NFL debut for a team.

The previous mark was held by Pro Football Hall of Famer Paul Brown, whose Browns defeated the Philadelphia Eagles, winners of their past eight games in 1949, in Cleveland’s first game as an NFL team on September 16, 1950.

***The Detroit Lions drove 98 yards in the final minutes of their game in Week 15 at Oakland and scored a touchdown with 39 seconds remaining to top off the comeback win. Detroit QB Matthew Stafford passed for 391 yards and four touchdowns and wide receiver Calvin Johnson caught nine balls for 214 yards and two touchdowns. The two hooked up on the game-winning TD from six yards out.

Stafford at 23 years, 10 months old has passed for 4,145 yards and a team-record 33 touchdowns and is the second youngest QB in NFL history with at least 4,000 passing yards and 30 TD passes in a season behind Hall of Fame QB Dan Marino from 1984.

***San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers has surpassed 4,000 yards (4,015) for the fourth straight season. He joins Peyton Manning and Drew Brees as the only QB’s in NFL history to pass for 4,000+ yards in at least four consecutive seasons.

***Philadelphia Eagles RB Le Sean Mc Coy leads the NFL with 20 TD’s, 17 rushing, 3 receiving and passed Pro Football Hall of Famer Steve Van Buren who had 18 in 1945 for the most in a season in franchise history. That was the longest-standing single-season club TD mark in the NFL. The current record now belongs to John David Crow of the Cardinals in 1962. He scored three TD’s against the New York Jets in Week 15.

***In the Cowboys Week 15 win over Tampa Bay, 31-15, QB Tony Romo became the first quarterback in team history to throw three touchdowns and run for another in the first half of a game. Romo, who made his 75th career start, passed for 249 yards and his 20,283 passing yards are the the third-most for any player in NFL history through his first 75 starts, joining Hall of Famer Dan Marino, 20,492 and Kurt Warner 20,305.

***The Saints defeated Minnesota in Week 15, 42-20. In the contest Drew Brees became the first player in NFL history to complete 80+ percent of his passes (32 of 40, 80 percent) and throw for at least 400 yards (412) and five touchdowns with no interceptions in a game. It marked his 11th 300-yard passing game of 2011, the most in a single season all-time. Brees has 4,780 yards, joining Peyton Manning as the only QB’s to pass for at least 4,500 yards in three different seasons and needs 305 yards to set the single-season passing record set by Pro Football Hall of Fame QB Dan Marino’s 5,084.

Dallas Cowboys rookie placekicker Dan Bailey has been money in the bank for his team at the end of games.

The 7-4 Cowboys have won four games this season that have been decided by a kick from Bailey in the final two minutes or in overtime.

He did it again on Thanksgiving night with a 28-yard field goal as the clock ran out to give the Cowboys a 20-19 win over the Miami Dolphins in Arlington.

The victory was the 4th straight for Dallas and Miami drops to 3-8.

Dallas quarterback Tony Romo had his streak of 128 straight passes without an interception end, but he was 22 of 34 passing for 226 yards.

The Dolphins drove the ball all over the field and had four drives that were 10 yards of the end zone , but had to settle for a field goal each time as they drop to 3-8. Brandon Marshall caught their only TD, a 35-yarder.

Cowboys lose to Giants; fall to 1-5 and lose QB Romo for season

The Dallas Cowboys had a lot of motivation coming into this season. The main motivation was the Super Bowl would be played in their new stadium. But so far 2010 has been anything but a disaster.

The season got more of a disaster Monday night when starting QB Tony Romo broke his left collarbone in the 41-35 loss to the New York Giants. That injury could end his season.

The recovery time according to medical journals, is 8 to 10 weeks.

The injury took place in the second quarter, as Romo was throwing to WR Miles Austin. He took a hard hit from New York linebacker Michael Boley, who was running towards him unblocked, full speed.

Number 2 quarterback Jon Kitna, the former Seahawk, Bengal, and Lion will be the starter. Kitna was the only backup quarterback  in the NFL in 2009 not to take a snap in a game.

The 5-2 New York Giants won their fourth game in a row and sit atop the NFC East Division.
