Freeman, Washington lead Bobcats to win over BG

Tommy Freeman and DeVaughn Washington led the Ohio Bobcats to a 70-60 victory over MAC rival Bowling Green.

Freeman scored 20 points, while Washington scored 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

Ohio improves 15-13, 7-6. BGSU drops to 12-16, 7-6.

In OT, Ohio survives Winthrop

DeVaughn Washington scored 25 points and Tommy Freeman helped out with 21 to lead Ohio over Winthrop in the BracketBuster game, 77-74 in overtime.

Ohio improves to 14-13 while Winthrop drops to 12-15.

Bobcats shut-off Rockets, 71-58

The Ohio Bobcats put another dagger into the Toledo Rockets who are having another miserable, losing season at 4-22, 1-9 in the MAC, with a 71-58 win.

Toledo used to be an annual Mid-American Conference championship threat, but has fallen on hard times the past 6 years under Stan Joplin, Gene Cross and now Ted Kolwalcyk.

Tommy Freeman scored 21, all on a career-high seven 3-point baskets in giving Ohio an overall record of 12-12, 5-5 in the MAC East Division.

Toledo has now lost sixth straight loss.

Ohio loses close game to Central Michigan

Trey Zeigler led Central Michigan to an upset win over Ohio, 91-85 in a Mid-American Conference game.

The Chippewas move to 6-15 overall, 3-5.

D.J. Cooper scored 30 points to lead Ohio and was supported by Tommy Freeman, who had 16.

Ohio drops to 10-12, 3-5.

Ohio Bobcats routs Norfolk State, 92-56

The Ohio Bobcats routed Norfolk State, 92-56 as Tommy Freeman scored 19 points and D.J. Cooper recorded his eighth career double-double in leading the way. The game was played at the Convocation Center in Athens, Ohio.

The Bobcats are now 7-6, while Norfolk State falls to 1-10.

Cooper scored 11 points with 10 assists for the Bobcats, who had their second-highest point total of the season alongside the 112-107 four-overtime loss to St. Bonaventure on December 18.

They also allowed a season low for points and field goals (18) and tied a season-high with 48 rebounds.

The Bobcats shot 51.7 percent from the field (30 of 58) while the Spartans shot only 32.1 percent (18 of 56).

Pendaris Williams scored 13 points to lead Norfolk State.
