* Reality-TV star Dean McDermott is being treated for a punctired and collapsed lung after a dirt-bike accident Tuesday near Los Angeles. The 43-year-old McDermott, was said to have bled heavily from the puncture wound. He is to remain in intensive care for a few more days and is expected to make a full recovery.

McDermott and his wife, Tori Spelling, star in the Oxygen series Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood.

* The ladies from the TV Land series, Hot in Cleveland: Valerie Bertinelli, Betty White, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick Have taped a video message in a campaign to persuade basketball star LeBron James to stay home with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Lakers take 2-0 lead in West finals; hold off pesky suns

The Los Angeles Lakers are halfway to the NBA finals and their fans have already started chants that they want Boston.

Pau Gasol scored 14 of his 29 points in the fourth quarter, Kobe Bryant had 21 points and 13 assists, and the Lakers rolled away in the final minutes for a 124-112 win over the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night to claim a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference finals.

Ron Artest pitched in with 18 points for the Lakers who won their eighth straight playoff game and  moved within striking distance of a tantalizing NBA finals showdown with the Boston Celtics, who also lead their series over Orlando, 2-0.
