Despite concerns over knee, Tom Brady plays well in Patriots win over Tampa Bay

Three days ago the concern in Patriots Land was Tom Brady and his knee after a collision during a practice session between the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Friday night in an exhibition game against the same Buccaneers, Brady shook off any effects of the sprained left knee and led the Patriots to a 25-21 win.

Playing the first two series, the former University of Michigan quarterback completed his first 11 passes and threw a touchdown pass to Danny Amendola to the delight of New England fans.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady became the first unanimous winner of the Associated Press NFL Most Valuable Player Award.

Brady, who won his second MVP honor, was selected by a nationwide panel of media members who cover the league on a regular basis.

During the 2010 season, Brady led his team to a 14-2 record.

Brady, who is married to model Gisele Bundchen, had a record streak of 355 passes without an interception, and passed for 36 touchdowns and threw only four interceptions.

Tom Brady was chosen as the Associated Press NFL Offensive Player of the Year for the second time in four seasons this week.

The record-setting quarterback, who had a string of 355 passes without an interception, received votes from a nationwide panel of media members who cover the league regularly. He beat out Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick.

Brady was a unanimous choice for the All-Pro team as he threw for 36 touchdowns while only throwing four interceptions in leading the New England Patriots to a 14-2 record.

Vick finished fourth in the passer rating category with a career-best 100.2, threw 21 touchdown passes with only six interceptions. He also rushed for nine touchdowns and 676 yards.

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL: New England Patriots 41 Miami Dolphins 14

The New England Patriots dominated all phases of the game.

Patrick Chung blocked two kicks and returned an interception for a touchdown and the Patriots scored twice on special teams to bounce the Miami Dolphins, 41-14 in Miami, Florida.

Leading the NFL’s highest scoring team, Tom Brady threw for 153 yards, passing 19 of 24 for 153 yards and no intereceptions and three sacks.

Randy Moss was held without a catch for the first time since 2006.

The Patriots trailed 7-6 at the half, but Brandon Tate returned the second half kickoff 103 yards for a score, Chung blocked a punt to set up another touchdown, then Chung blocked a field goal that Kyle Arrington returned 35 yards for a score and the rout was on.

New England, now 3-1, moved into a tie with the New York Jets for first place in the AFC East, while the Dolphins at 2-2, dropped to third place with their second divisional loss at home in the past eight days.

Miami QB Chad Henne was 29 of 39 for 302 yards and 2 TD’s and tied a career high 3 interceptions. He was eventually pulled in favor of Tyler Thigpen.

New England Patriots WR Randy Moss moves into 150 TD club

Wide receiver Randy Moss became the fourth player in National Football League history to reach 150 career touchdowns with sensational one-handed 34-yard catch on Sunday in a loss to the New York Jets in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

New England quarterback Tom Brady threw the ball to Moss, who reached up, grabbed the pass over his shoulder with his right hand, with Darrelle Revis behind him and had a touchdown without using his left hand. The scoring play came with 53 seconds left in the half.

Moss is the second wide receiver to have reached the 150 career touchdown mark. Moss has 149 touchdowns on pass receptions and one on a punt return. He trails Jerry Rice (208), Emmitt Smith (175) and LaDainian Tomlinson (153).
